My Tips for Finding a Motorhome Parking Spot in Innsbruck
Are you looking for a motorhome parking spot in Innsbruck? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, parking in the city is both rare and expensive. Standard parking spaces are usually too small for a campervan and often prohibit overnight stays. Additionally, the narrow underground garages in the city center are not an option for larger vehicles.
I’ve researched specific RV parking options in Innsbruck to help you find the best spot, whether you’re staying for just a day or a full camping holiday. Here is my overview of the available locations:
Recommended Motorhome Parking in Innsbruck
Motorhome Parking at Innrain
The Innrain motorhome parking area offers a very central location in Innsbruck. Established at the site of the former harbor, it is located at Innrain 149. You can easily reach this motorhome parking spot via the Innsbruck-West motorway exit.
A day ticket for a motorhome costs €15 for a 24-hour period. To reach the city center, you can purchase a Park & Ride ticket for €18. While this might not seem particularly cheap at first glance, it is an excellent deal for families or groups, as the ticket is valid for one to five people. Alternatively, you can simply walk to the Old Town (Altstadt) from here. It is a pleasant stroll along the Inn River, and you will arrive in the Innsbruck Old town in about 15 minutes.
- Motorhomes allowed
- Caravans allowed
- Buses prohibited
- No electricity hookups
- No fresh water or wastewater disposal
Fennerkaserne Sports Field (Day Parking)
Gemini hat gesagt
It appears that motorhome parking is also permitted at the local sports field. A day ticket costs €20, but the major advantage is the location: you are right in the heart of the Old Town (Altstadt). However, there are very few parking spaces available. While reservations are possible, finding an open spot without one can be a bit of a gamble. The site provides basic amenities, including a toilet and washing facilities. To get there, head to the motorhome parking area on Kaiserjägerstraße—you can find the exact location via the Google maps

- Buses allowed
- No electricity hookups

Camping Innsbruck (Kranebitterhof)
I previously recommended Camping Kranebitterhof as an ideal location west of the city. However, due to recent negative feedback regarding high fees (nearly €100 for 5 people) and reports of outdated infrastructure and unprofessional staff behavior, I can no longer fully maintain this recommendation. While the location at 600 meters altitude and the large pitches for long trailers are theoretically good, the price-performance ratio seems to have declined. If you still choose to stay here, there are about 70 spots available with basic amenities. A supermarket is a 3-minute walk away, and there is a restaurant (“Ristorante Garda”) on-site.
- Wi-Fi available
- Electricity hookups (100% eco-power, 16 amps)
- Fresh water & wastewater disposal
- Dogs allowed
- Tents & campervans welcome
- Sanitary facilities in a separate building
